Australian Floods 2011

The Australian Floods of 2011, mainly in Queensland, but also affecting other states, has been making some major international headlines lately. Mainstream media have been estimating the size of the flood being as big as France and Germany combined.

The flooding has affected over 200,000 people in over 70 locations, including the state capital city of Brisbane. The disaster has claimed the lives of at least over 30 people, and officials estimate that over 40 people are missing.
